The flaming star nebula is a bright emission nebula in the constellation Auriga. It is located at a distance of about 1,500 light-years from Earth. The nebula is a region of star formation, containing a young open cluster of stars known as the Flaming Star Cluster. The nebula is illuminated by the light of the cluster’s hottest stars, which are responsible for the nebula’s distinctive red color.
